I think this dude is awesome. Danny Brown’s (Born Daniel Sewell) rap/flow and intonation range is diverse and progressive, as is his production.
Vocally, he varies from low pitched raspy tones to hectic, frenzied and high pitched.
His perspectives are complex, mature and varied. They explore Danny’s own experiences selling drugs and going to parties in Detroit’s rave scene.
He fiercely contrasts subjects with witty narrative arcs over avant-garde production.
Danny also examines themes around social disorganisation, such as poverty, drug abuse, social structure and agency within the Dexter-Linwood area of Detroit.
